THE SCHOOL
Colégio Vértice is a private school that caters to students' education from pre-school through high school.
Founded in 1976, it is located in a residential neighborhood of São Paulo, the largest city in South America
with a metropolitan population of around 20 million. Its pedagogical proposal is grounded on the full development
of students, the importance and need to study and to have permanent evaluations, and also of one-to-
one monitoring. Throughout the school year, students are observed and receive orientation
from teachers and from the Educational Counseling Team. Colégio Vértice also keeps close and direct contact with
students’ parents, ensuring that they participate in this process focused on raising citizens.

High School
Organization
At Colégio Vértice all subjects are taught in Portuguese, except the language classes which are English, German and Spanish. Our program leads students to get the Brazilian degree after a three-year high school. Both first and second years have a three-day schedule with seven 45-minute classes in the morning and a two-day schedule with eleven 45-minute classes allotted in the morning and afternoon. Senior year has a five-day full-time schedule with eleven 45-minute classes. The academic year consists of two semesters or four graded quarters. We follow the Brazilian school calendar.
Curriculum
The Brazilian degree consists of a set curriculum. There are 11 required curricular components for graduation in High School.
Important information: One credit represents 80 instructional hours per year.
